Costa Rica Sport Fishing is world class and has been well known in the
Sport Fishing industry for many years. Costa Rica provides many fishing
resorts where you can enjoy the sun, surf and fishing along with luxury
accommodations and first class service.
Sport Fishing on the Pacific Coast
is strikingly different than Sport Fishing on the Caribbean Coast. The
Pacific is known for its Blue Marlin and the best season for this fish is
from May – July. However this fish can be found year round in the Pacific
waters. Dorado is also another Sport Fishing catch. Its season follows
that of Blue Marlin.

years ago, Crocodile Bay Lodge on the southwestern coast of Costa Rica has
come on strong as a blue water fly fishing destination, with impressive
numbers of sailfish, dorado and tuna, even an occasional marlin, bending
long rods outside of the Golfo Dulce (Spanish for "Sweet Gulf"). I have
personally spent a lot of time in the lodge's fleet of boats casting flies
for those blue-water behemoths. But each time I return to the lodge, I
find myself spending just a bit more time inshore, throwing flies at
roosterfish, various kinds of snapper, jack crevalle, bonito, big-eye and
bluefin trevally, African pompano, machaca (especially in the Rio Esquinas
around the mangrove roots) and the admittedly recalcitrant and persnickety
snook.
